Legal Counsel

Legal Counsel - Part-Time

Location: Austin, TX

Salary: $70.00/hour

Campbell HR is working with Yunex North America in the search for a Part-Time Legal Counsel to provide practical, business‑focused legal support across a range of commercial, regulatory, and corporate matters. This role will work closely with Yunex Traffic Global Chief Counsel, Yunex Traffic North America’s general business counsel, senior leadership, sales, procurement, R&D, product and project teams, supporting a growing technology business that operates heavily in public‑sector and infrastructure environments.

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced, hands‑on attorney who can operate independently, prioritize effectively, and deliver clear, risk‑informed legal advice in a fast‑paced environment.

 

Position Responsibilities:

Commercial & Transactional Support

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including:
    • Customer contracts (public‑sector and private)
    • SaaS and technology licensing agreements
    • Master services agreements (MSAs), NDAs, and statements of work (SOWs)
  • Support bid and proposal reviews (RFPs, RFQs, IFBs), identifying legal and contractual risks
  • Advise on contract interpretation, risk allocation, and negotiations with customers, partners, and vendors

Corporate & Operational Matters

  • Advise leadership on general corporate, governance, and operational legal issues.
  • Support dispute management, claims, and pre‑litigation matters (in coordination with outside counsel when needed).
  • Manage and coordinate external counsel efficiently, controlling legal spend.

Business Partnership

  • Serve as a trusted legal advisor to business leaders, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
  • Provide clear, practical legal guidance to non‑legal stakeholders.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Provide legal guidance on U.S. federal, state, and local regulations relevant to transportation, infrastructure, and technology services.
  • Advise on compliance matters including data protection, cybersecurity, export controls, and ethics
  • Support internal policies, compliance programs, and risk mitigation initiatives.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience with public‑sector contracting and procurement laws
  • Familiarity with infrastructure, transportation, or intelligent mobility solutions
  • Experience negotiating complex technology or SaaS agreements
  • Comfort working in a global or matrixed organization

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to translate legal concepts into clear business advice
  • Highly organized, responsive, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Sound judgment and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Work Arrangement & Time Commitment

  • Part‑time role (hours flexible based on business needs)
  • Hybrid or remote work arrangement, with occasional meetings during North American business hours
