Staff Accountant

Location: Centennial, CO

Salary: $60,000-70,000

Campbell HR is working with a growing CPA firm in Centennial looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant looking to build a strong foundation in public accounting. The Accountant will support tax preparation, audit processes, and client accounting services while gaining exposure to a variety of industries and financial scenarios.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
  • Support audit and assurance engagements, including fieldwork and documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Perform account reconciliations and general ledger maintenance.
  • Assist with bookkeeping, payroll, and month-end close processes for clients.
  • Organize and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate with clients to request documents and clarify financial information.
  • Stay current on accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Support senior accountants and managers on various client projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing.
  • 2+ years of accounting or internship experience (public accounting preferred).
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
